Instead of high-heat extraction, the fatty acids are drawn out using a cold, enzyme-based process that leaves them naturally bound to phospholipids, the same molecules your body uses to build cell membranes. Because the fish is processed within about an hour of being caught and the finished product contains no oil, it avoids the fish burp effect some people experience with standard fish oil or krill oil.*
