Description
Comfrey has a long history in topical herbal care, and Traumaplant Comfrey Cream is a modern version of that tradition, rubbed onto sore muscles and stiff joints after a hard workout, yard work, or an active day. Because it’s a topical product, it works on the area you apply it to rather than the whole body.*
Standard comfrey can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs), compounds that raise safety concerns and can be absorbed through the skin. Traumaplant uses a comfrey variety grown to be free of PAs, made only from the blossoms, leaves, and stems, and checked regularly to prevent cross-pollination with other comfrey species. What remains are the compounds people associate with comfrey, including choline, rosmarinic acid, and allantoin, without the PAs found in standard comfrey. The cream is also paraben-free, absorbs without a greasy residue, and won’t stain clothing or sheets.*
- Supports muscle comfort after exercise or physical activity*
- Supports joint comfort and everyday mobility*
- Non-staining, suitable for adults and children ages 4 and up
Topical comfrey is unusually well studied for an herbal cream, having been evaluated in 14 clinical trials, including four randomized, double-blind studies, on muscle and joint comfort.* If discomfort is sharp, lingering, or tied to an injury, it’s worth talking to a clinician rather than relying on a topical alone.
