Description
Thorne renamed this formula from Ferrasorb to Advanced Iron Complex; nothing inside changed, just the label. Each capsule provides 36 mg of elemental iron as Ferrochel® ferrous bisglycinate chelate, paired with active forms of folate, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12, plus a small amount of vitamin C.
Iron is central to how the body builds red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body.* The form matters here: common options like ferrous sulfate are absorbed inconsistently and can be hard on the stomach. Chelating the iron to the amino acid glycine is meant to make it gentler and more consistently absorbed, though individual tolerance still varies.
- 36 mg elemental iron as Ferrochel® ferrous bisglycinate chelate
- Active folate (L-5-MTHF), B6 (P5P), and B12 (methylcobalamin)
- Vitamin C to support iron absorption*
- Gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, third-party tested
Iron needs vary quite a bit by person, and it’s not a nutrient to guess at. Menstruating women, vegetarians and vegans, and endurance athletes tend to run lower, but the only way to know where you actually stand is a simple lab panel for iron and ferritin. Talk with your provider before starting if you are pregnant, take regular medications, or manage a health condition.
